How to install your eSIM

Install the eSIM before you travel, while connected to Wi-Fi. Do not delete the eSIM after installing: the QR code can usually be used only once.

iPhone

  1. Open Settings → Mobile Data (or Cellular).
  2. Tap Add eSIM → Use QR Code and scan the code you received.
  3. Give it an easy name, for example “Europe”.
  4. 30-day plans only: set the APN (see below).
  5. When you arrive: under Mobile Data, choose the Europe eSIM and turn on Data Roaming for it.

Samsung

  1. Open Settings → Connections → SIM manager.
  2. Tap Add eSIM → Scan QR code.
  3. 30-day plans only: set the APN (see below).
  4. When you arrive: choose the eSIM for Mobile data and turn on Data roaming.

Google Pixel and other Android phones

  1. Open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs.
  2. Tap Add SIM → Download a SIM and scan the code.
  3. 30-day plans only: set the APN (see below).
  4. When you arrive: set the eSIM for mobile data and turn on roaming for it.

Menu names may differ slightly depending on the model and software version.

Setting the APN (30-day plans only)

On 30-day plans, after installing, set the APN netmon.vodafone.it manually for the eSIM. Without it, mobile data will not work. Leave username and password empty.
On 8 and 12-week plans, the APN sets automatically, so you can skip this step.

iPhone

  1. Settings → Mobile Data → choose the Europe eSIM.
  2. Tap Mobile Data Network.
  3. Under Mobile Data, in the APN field, type: netmon.vodafone.it
  4. Go back one screen to save.

Samsung

  1. Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Access Point Names.
  2. At the top, choose the Europe eSIM, then tap Add.
  3. For Name type “Europe”, for APN type netmon.vodafone.it.
  4. From the three-dot menu tap Save, then select the new APN.

Google Pixel and other Android phones

  1. Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → choose the Europe eSIM.
  2. Tap Access Point Names → +.
  3. For Name type “Europe”, for APN type netmon.vodafone.it.
  4. Save and select the new APN.

If data still does not work, restart your phone and check that Data Roaming is on for the eSIM.
